COMMUNITY FOCUSED
Councillor Conor Dowling represents the Blackrock ward on Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council where he is taking real action on climate. Conor believes that a cleaner and greener Blackrock is possible and necessary for a better future.
Conor has a track record of working with local community groups, educators, businesses, and government to implement sustainable policies and initiatives. Building on this he will deliver comprehensive plans to tackle environmental challenges in Blackrock and across DLRCC.
Much damage has already been done, we now need to mitigate further carbon output, while adapting for changing climate and the impact it will have.
BUILDING BLACKROCK
Conor's 'Building Blackrock' strategy includes integrating public transport infrastructure, promoting zero-waste practices, and supporting local green businesses. By working together, we can create a more resilient and prosperous community:
-
Affordable housing through derelict building and 'over shop' grants;
-
Improved education supports with a focus on extra curricular activities;
-
Investing in renewable energy training and job creation;
-
More regular water quality testing and display of same;
-
Naturer Based Flood defences along our coast; and,
-
Prioritising active travel and connecting DLR infrastructure.
